an almost medieval feel to this dream sequence... the dark colours and texture remind of old panelling in castles .. it takes the viewer way back in time.. the painted horse of a merry go round.. an antique doll ... all set in a mysterious somber surrounding.
the most dominant, most "seeable" symbol in this dreamscape is the wise raven, harbringer of powerfull secrets, messenger between the worlds. the doll is looking at it expectantly, waiting for secrets to be revealed?
the golden moon, a symbol of subtlety, intuition, illumination, transition and more forms the background for raven, horse and doll and illuminates another symbol, the vine.. the vine, a symbol for "going with the flow", being slender and adaptable to its surroundings, building strong footholds to assure and continue its growth.
the horse, even though high in symbolism has some of its power removed here; it is wooden, not alive, on a stick, mechanical, painted.. it is the carrier for the doll and the raven sits on the wooden pole, that "gives life", movement to the horse by being connected to the mechanics of the merry go round.
and silently, almost invisible, the mask at the bottom of it all...... the mask, seemingly empty, representing the dreamer, there and yet not.. viewer and participant at the same time, quietly observing, watching the story unfold.
